Devoted to Christ (The Person) Devoted to His Church (His People) Devoted to His Mission (His Passion and purpose)​ This is based on the “Irreducible Core” of the Christian life: Love God—Matthew 22:37-38 Love others—Matthew 22:39-40 As we go, make disciples—Matthew 28:18-20 You will notice that the “irreducible Core” matches our mission statement that states we, the people of Grace, nurture people to love God, love others, and make disciples. Yet in order to accomplish God’s purpose for us we first need to Journey down the path of discipleship. To this end we invite you to devote yourself to this journey once again. Find one of these on ramps to the journey and join us as we learn to live our our core values of authenticity, embodiment, and restoration. May the Spirit of God empower this rebirth to discipleship in all of us.

The Spiritual Journey of Discipleship


God is amazing! We witness his amazing work every week as we experience the sacraments of the Lord’s Supper and Baptism. In both of these we witness God doing amazing things as he extends his love to us, what an awesome blessing this sacramental presence of God is for us. Yet we tend to forget God’s sacramental presence in us and through us. We tend to concentrate all of our focus on that one saving moment in baptism. This is a mysterious act of God we should hold high. Yet this is just the beginning of a longer journey, a journey of a lifetime, a journey of discipleship. The overall process of someone experiencing a fully devoted relationship with Christ is a journey, not just an event like baptism. It is an ongoing process of discovery that may last years or even decades. Yet this is a journey that is one that is deliberate and empowered by the Holy Spirit. For many this is a journey that has not yet been fully explored. Because of this we have developed an intentional and personal process of discipleship. We take God’s word very seriously especially his call to “follow me”. This is an invitation for all to learn to live and imitate the life of Jesus. This invitation is for each of us no matter if you have just come to believe in Jesus and wish to follow him or if you have been a lifelong believer and wish to become more fully devoted to the life of Jesus. We call this process our Discipleship Engine This is the process/engine behind our journey to living a life as one who is a devoted follower of Jesus.
